Getting your Domain to point to your Webspace
When you buy hosting, you will be able to buy domains from the same web host. But what happens if you have purchased hosting
from one place and domains from another? How do you get your domain to point to your webspace?
To get your domain to point to your webspace, you need to change its DNS settings (some domain registrars would have labeled
it as Nameservers). So first, check the welcome mail from your web host for the Nameservers you should use.
The Nameservers would be something like:
dns1.webhost.com
dns2.webhost.com
Now, log on to the control panel given by your domain registrar. Click on your domain name in the control panel and then enter
the Nameservers.
It usually takes anywhere between 24-48 hours for the domain to point to your webspace. So be patient.
If you have more than one domain you want to add to the same webspace, follow the same steps to change the Nameservers for
each of them.
