I have just joined a program, which pays for viewing their ads.

This is what the ClixSense program says:

My Review of Clix Sense

I wanted to check out this program thoroughly before I recommend this to you. So I joined the program as a free member and then upgraded my account by paying $10. I started clicking on ads.

All that I had to do was to click on 'Browse Ads' after logging into my ClixSense Account.

I got a list of ads. I clicked on one. The ad opened on a new window. There was a message which said wait for 30 seconds. Do not close this window before that.

After 30 seconds I got a message, close the window. I clicked on that and it took me back to Clix Sense list of Ads page. I clicked on another ad there.

On the left menu I saw 'My Account' where I could see the amount of money I had earned.

What I Was not Happy About

I expected to see ads ranging from 0.01 to $5. And I thought if I get to view even two ads of $5 I would get my money back and then whatever I earn after that will be my profit.

This did not happen. Most of the ads I got were 0.01 and jut a few for 0.02. I viewed nearly 300 ads to get back $3 of the $10 I had paid to Clix Sense.

What Did I Do About it?

I submitted a ticket to Clix Sense Help Desk.

I wrote to them:

"I wanted to promote your site to my list. I thought I will add a page on my website about earning money by viewing ads.

I know a lot of people on my list will be interested in this.

But I wanted to check out your site myself to be sure. I am very particular about what I promote to my list.

I have paid $10 to be a premium member and to make up for my loss I have viewed nearly 300 ads. I have to view about 700 more to get back my money.

Can you give me any reason why I should promote your site as an affiliate?

What is in it for the people on my list? If they do not become premium members they are going to get less ads to see.

If they become premium members to get back their money they will have to view 1000 ads.

Suppose you were in my list would you be happy I suggested such an option to you?

I submitted a second ticket to Clix Sense.

I am still waiting for an answer. Today I received an intimation that I will get $5 if those I refer upgrade to premium membership.

But I would first like to ensure that they benefit from upgrading their account.

Please let me know why they should upgrade if they have to view 1000 ads just to get back the money they already had".

Responsible Response

Clix Sense responded to my ticket and the response put my mind at rest.

According to Clix Sense, these are the benefits of joining their program:

1. We pay $10. But the amount is for one year subscription. So whatever I make after I earn back my $10 are my profit.

2. Clix Sense has newly started their site. They have now added ads which pay 0.05 and 0.10. More are going to be added in future.

3. They are going to start promoting their site more through television and other means. This would help them get more advertisers and viewers to join their program.

4. If somebody you refer become a premium member by paying $10, you get 50% affiliate commission. By referring two premium members you can get back the money. This program is available until March 31, 2007. It may or may not be extended.

What is My Suggestion?

1. If you are considering joining Clix Sense, join before March 31 to benefit from the special promotion period.

2. If you do not want to risk $10, become a free member and then decide whether you want to continue or not. Remember all ads are not shown to free members. So you will get less number of ads.
